How do I properly showcase canvas and print work in a portfolio?
I use sharpies and canvas medium to create art. I would like to showcase my work by taking photos of it and creating a portfolio to take and show friends and eventually potential buyers my work. I would like this to be as professional as possible.
How do I format the portfolio to look up to standards? Also, should I include little descriptions of the pieces such as dimensions and medium since the portfolio will only showcase photos of the work -not the actual work.
I cannot find information online on this. Thanks for ANY advice 
first you need a portfolio, those scrap booking books work well, I bought one in black, then they have the plastic inserts that you can slide your pages into
i created my portfolio on power point, others have used photo shop
you can upload your photos and yes, have a short description (materials etc) and the dimensions and year
its also nice to have a table of contents and a statement about your artistic process, resume at the end
print it on nice heavy paper, you also may need to cut the white edges off because black is the best background and remount on a black sheet of paper, or you can talk to people at office max who do professional printing
