Doe’s copying from pictures and photographs make you a cheat and not a real Artist ?
I am better at drawing from reference photo’s and original cartoon characters. Some people say to me this makes me a cheat and not a true artist. Do you agree.
I enjoy drawing and painting landscapes and also animated characters. I just cant draw from my head ?

Warhol’s silkscreens are all taken from existing sources.
So, no, these days it does not make you a cheat. You can copy images and still be a real artist.
You should bear in mind that if you copy someone else’s images and you do it badly, it will look stale and amateur. A picture of a musician / pop star done in pencil from a photo usually looks amateur even if the likeness is good.
You probably need some knowledge of art history to be conscious of whether you are:
a. ‘appropriating found images’ in order to make your own art b. learning how an artist did something by copying it yourself or
c. just copying it out for pleasure.

If you can’t draw ‘from your head?’, why not try drawing objects and people from life?
