I want to change the oil on a custom bike with an S&S motor. Do I need 2 drain the oil tank & the bottom end?

I hate to disagree with the other answers BUT there is only about five ounces of oil in the S&S cases. Drain the oil tank, pull the filter… put a few ounces of oil in a new filter and rescrew it on… then put the correct amount in the oil tank. Depending on the tank, total oil should be 3 quarts minimum. If you drain the cases you risk oil starvation on start up. If you have already done this or just to be safe… pull plugs and spin motor with starter to move some fresh oil through the system.
